May 1st the Green Eco Warriors with Mass Save and Western Mass Electric presented a live performance and fundraiser to Talmadge Elementary in Springfield. This program is the Save Energy Save Dinero Challenge a unique program that teaches students about saving energy through a fun live performance with engaging characters such as Dinero the Frog. Dinero is passionate about sharing his knowledge of saving energy and the planet. A popular character in this presentation is the Phantom Draw Dinero’s nemesis the Phantom draws energy from your home when we forget to switch it off. Students join in on the battle between these characters by selling energy efficient bulbs. Sanderson Academy takes the the Save Energy Save Dinero Challenge ™

On Friday April 18th Sanderson Academy began their participation in the Save Energy Save Dinero Challenge ™. Students learned the importance of energy sustainability and how they can become energy ambassadors by making simple changes such as turning off the lights when they leave the room. Leticia Colon de Mejias of the Green Eco Warriors informed each student that their greatest power is their minds. The program teaches youth that the future is in their hands. The Phantom Draw, an energy stealing nemesis of the Warriors, made an appearance during the performance. Mass Save and Western Massachusetts Electric are providing this exciting program to schools in the WEMCO territory. Along with the performance students will participate in a bulb sale fundraiser. Discovery School at Four Corners Defeat the Phantom Draw

“Switch it off!” chanted the students of Discovery School at Four Corners to defeat the Phantom Draw, a comical villain that steals energy when you don’t switch it off. Students engaged in a morning of learning about energy sustainability as part of the Save Energy Save Dinero Challenge. The Challenge sponsored by Mass Save and Western Massachusetts Electric company and Green Eco Warriors presented a live performance and fundraiser to students. The performance educates students about energy, where it comes from and their responsibility to help. William N Deberry School accept the Save Energy Save Dinero Challenge!

April 10 – Mass Save and the Green Eco Warriors brought the Save Energy Save Dinero Challenge to William N Deberry School this week in Springfield. Students and teachers were excited to watch the live performance by Leticia Colon de Mejias, author of the book, Dinero the Frog Learns to Save Energy. Mass Save has sponsored the program to engage students through exciting characters such as the Phantom Draw ™, a playful menace that steals energy when you forget to “switch it off” and Dinero a curious frog who learns about saving the planet and is passionate about teaching others about energy conservation. Alfred G Zanetti School Save Energy and Dinero with Mass Save

March 28th-Alfred G Zanetti School in Springfield learned how to become Green Eco Warriors through the Save Energy Save Dinero Challenge provided by Western Massachusetts Electric and Mass Save. The Save Energy Save Dinero™ Challenge is an interactive live educational performance that explains where energy comes from, which energies are renewable, and how to save energy. Students became energy ambassadors and used their new powers to make a difference. Students met the characters, Dinero the Frog, who teaches about being energy leaders, and the Phantom Draw, a comical villain that steals energy. Each student received the book “Dinero the Frog Learns to Save Energy” and met the books author Leticia Colon de Mejias. Following the performance the students pledged to save energy and received fundraising materials. The fundraiser is a CFL and LED bulb sale and 100% of the profits go directly to the school.
